How does Marqer grade an assignment?+
Take or upload a photo of your child's finished work. Marqer sends it to an AI grading model that reads the work, assigns a grade, and explains what was right, what was wrong, and why — usually in under a minute.
Do I need to create an account?+
No. Marqer doesn't use accounts, logins, or passwords. Every child, entry, and grade is stored locally in your browser (or on your device, for the iOS app). Nothing is tied to an email address.
Where is my child's data stored?+
On the website, everything lives in your browser's local storage — it never leaves your device except to be graded. On the iOS app, everything is stored on the device itself. There's no central account database.
Does that mean my data won't follow me to another device?+
Correct. Because there's no account, your kids, entries, and plan are tied to the specific browser or device you're using. Switching browsers, devices, or clearing site data starts fresh.
What subjects can Marqer grade?+
Math, reading/writing, science, history, Latin, Spanish, and other foreign languages, plus a general subject for anything else. Marqer adapts its grading rubric to whatever subject it detects in the photo.
Can I tell Marqer what curriculum we use?+
Yes. Each child can have an optional curriculum note (e.g. "Saxon Math" or "Charlotte Mason") set from their profile. Marqer uses it as grading context so feedback matches what that curriculum expects.
How many free grades do I get?+
10 free grades, one time, per browser or device — not monthly. Once you've used them, you'll need to choose a paid plan to keep grading.
What do the paid plans cost?+
Single Child is $4.99/month for about 200 AI grades a month. Family is $7.99/month for about 800 AI grades a month, and covers as many kids as you add.
Can I cancel anytime?+
Yes. Manage or cancel your subscription anytime from the Upgrade screen's "Manage Subscription" link, which opens Stripe's billing portal.
Is the website the same as the iOS app?+
They're built to be the same experience — same grading, same features like Report Card, Calendar, and Search. But since neither uses accounts, a plan or entries on the website won't show up in the app, or vice versa.
Can I take multiple photos before grading?+
Yes. The camera lets you snap several pages in one session — one per problem set, worksheet, or page — and grade them all together once you're done.
What if the AI gets a grade wrong?+
You can edit any entry after the fact — adjust the grade, subject, or feedback, or re-run the AI grading. Marqer is a fast first pass, not a replacement for your judgment.
How do I erase everything?+
From the "Who are you grading?" screen, tap "Clear All Data." This permanently deletes every child and graded entry from this device or browser. It can't be undone.
